Cambodian Opposition Activist Beaten Nearly to Death by Unidentified Assailants

An activist and former elected official of the banned opposition Cambodia National Rescue Party (CNRP) was beaten nearly to death in Cambodia’s Kampong Thom province by a group of unidentified men, who only spared him after bystanders intervened, he said Friday.

About Courage Fund Cambodia

In Cambodia today, many people are jailed simply for speaking out for democracy and freedom. While they are imprisoned, their families struggle to survive. And once they are free, the battle is far from over. Many former prisoners struggle to rehabilitate themselves and support their families while trying to continue their vital work.
